1. Information We Collect

Taslim is built to collect as little data as possible. Depending on how you use the app or website, the following may be processed:

• Location — only with your explicit permission, used to calculate prayer times, the Qiblah direction, and the Ramadan fasting calendar.
• Account information (optional) — if you choose to create an account, we collect your email address to send a one-time verification code (OTP) and to sign you in. Most features work without an account.
• Basic technical data — standard information such as device type and app/browser version, used only to operate and secure the service. We do not use advertising identifiers and do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Location

When you grant location permission, your coordinates are used solely to:

• Calculate prayer times for your position
• Display the Qiblah direction
• Calculate Suhoor and Iftar times during Ramadan
• Show the name of your location (city / area)

To do this, your coordinates are sent to our servers and to trusted third-party services (see section 4) purely to perform these calculations. They are not linked to an advertising profile and are not used to identify you. Your chosen location is also saved on your own device so you don't have to select it every time.

3. Sharing and Selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share your data with third parties for advertising. Data is shared only with the service providers listed below, and only to the extent needed to run the service.

4. Third-Party Services

The app relies on a few third-party services:

• YouTube (Google) — for video playback; governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — converts your coordinates into a place name.
• Prayer-time calculation service — computes accurate prayer times for your coordinates.
• Email delivery provider (Resend) — delivers verification emails, only if you create an account.

5. Data Retention

Location coordinates are processed transiently and may be cached briefly to improve performance; they are not stored as part of a personal profile. If you create an account, your email is kept only while the account exists. You can request deletion of your account at any time.

6. Your Choices

• Grant or revoke location access in your device or browser settings at any time
• Remove your saved location directly within the app
• Delete your account and associated email, if you created one

7. Children

Taslim is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
